The Division of Extension and Engagement with the Extension Family & Community Health Program is seeking a Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position. This position is located in Grants Pass, Oregon.
This Outreach Program Coordinator is a member of the regional and statewide team of the Oregon State University ( OSU ) Extension Family and Community Health ( FCH ) program affiliated with the College of Health ( COH ). This FCH / SNAP -Ed Program Coordinator position will serve Jackson and Josephine counties and is based at the OSU Extension Service Office in Grants Pass, Oregon. Extension FCH and the College of Health align toward a common vision of lifelong health and well-being for individuals, families, and communities in Oregon. This affiliation brings national distinction among land-grant universities and schools of public health because of the unique, built-in capacity for impactful outreach through Extension Service FCH . The FCH program integrates an interdisciplinary, public health focus on health and well-being equity across the lifespan, and human sciences research into community-related practice.
The primary focus of this position is SNAP -Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program–Education) and EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Program), federally funded nutrition education and obesity prevention programs targeting SNAP -eligible audiences. SNAP -Ed and EFNEP provides evidence-based interventions including hands-on learner-centered direct education as well as community-based work related to policy, systems, and environmental change.
Purpose of the position:
The FCH / SNAP -Ed Program Coordinator is expected to provide overall leadership to the Extension FCH and SNAP -Ed programs in Jackson and Josephine Counties. Specifically, the faculty member maintains a robust portfolio of programming related to statewide focus areas of public health and nutrition, food systems, physical activity, and health leadership. The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with peer educators and researchers to address regional and statewide issues. The specific areas of programming are determined in conjunction with representatives of local communities.
The FCH - SNAP -Ed Program Coordinator is considered to be a member of the team of Extension faculty and staff serving Jackson and Josephine Counties. Collaborative work across disciplines, organizational units, and Extension programs areas is expected. Programming is done in collaboration with community partners, such as schools, farmers' markets, food banks and pantries, and government and non-profit agencies. SNAP -Ed delivers nutrition and healthy lifestyle programming through educators working in community settings. Jackson and Josephine county programs are delivered in both rural and urban communities.
This professional faculty member is expected to provide appropriate specialized expertise to support area or statewide FCH programming. The specializations will be determined in consultation with the OSU Extension Family and Community Health Program Leader and the Regional Director and will be complementary to those of other Extension faculty in the region or state.

Typically requires Bachelor's Degree in field relevant to program focus. May require certification or licensure as appropriate to the position.
Requirements :
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
