To help us continue our growth and development of disruptive innovation, we are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Systems and Consumables . This is a leadership position at the organization, one which has primary responsibility for driving and ensuring the long-term success and strategy of the Systems, Consumables and Hollow Fiber Business. The position will require the right mix of strategic, tactical, and analytical thinking to be able to analyze the market, support the end customers and the field-based organization, externally; as well as serve as a business partner for the R&D and operations teams, internally.
Our focus customer segments comprise of Cell and Gene Therapy, Vaccines, Monoclonal and other new modalities, and products serve the needs from R&D labs to large scale CGMP production. The candidate should have exposure to these segments and a broad understanding of Downstream Processes. Knowledge of Process Hardware is ideally suited.
- Responsible for the development of business strategy, creation of the portfolio roadmap and ability to communicate updates to Senior Leadership, Customers, and Stakeholders. This requires the candidate to stay current with regional industry trends and understand the competitive landscape and leverage this to develop the annual strategic plan
- Work with the Product Management team to derive forecast to ensure accurate demand planning and revenue attainment and track progress on KPI. Ability to drive P&L attainment
- Support and drive strategic projects related to operational investments, M&A diligence
- Collaborate and create the new products roadmap working closely with R&D and Engineering teams and develop the appropriate business rationale for launch of new products
- Work closely with marketing, commercial and other field support teams to drive execution of key customer projects
- Hire, retain, and develop team members in the various disciplines necessary to support team goals and objectives
- Ensure compliance with company policies and processes. Complete all projects within departmental operative procedures, company policies and professional standards
- Strategic, tactical, and analytical thinking
- BS in Engineering Discipline (Biotechnology, Chemical or Bioprocess), Advanced degree(s) and MBA is preferred
- At least 10 years’ experience in a leadership position associated with the commercial manufacturing of biologicals in product management, business roles
- Experience defining, implementing, and improving, NPD processes and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills to drive the team's performance and communicate project needs to all stakeholders and work across a matrix functional structure. Ability to take initiative, hold team members accountable for deliverables, and obtain support across departments
- Ability to travel globally, up to 25%
