Senior Manager of Global Planning

Santa Monica, CA / Full Time / Hybrid

Moon Juice is seeking an experienced and highly collaborative Senior Planning Manager, reporting to the VP of Finance. This role will be responsible for managing planning activities for all channels of the business including Ecommerce, Wholesale, and Retail channels. The ideal candidate has prior experience with an omnichannel consumer brand, experience in ecommerce and wholesale sales planning, net sales/shipment projections, and retailer partnerships relating to stock levels, inventory optimization, and sales/shipment forecasting.

The Senior Planning Manager is responsible for delivering gross shipment plans and executing against contra sales objectives. This role will collaborate with cross functional partners to recommend net sales plans and will consistently follow up to achieve those goals. They will also contribute in-depth sales management expertise and be responsible for sell-in and sell-through reporting. This role provides quantitative input on sales and profitability analyses.

This role interacts with nearly every department in the company, therefore strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. As a central figure within the team, the Senior Planning Manager is highly professional and positive and able to build strong relationships across all functions and levels. Moon Juice HQ is based in Santa Monica, CA and requires in-office collaboration 2 days/week.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and analyze data to create accurate sales forecasts, utilizing aggregated historical sales, seasonality, and anticipated consumer trends for reference. Run weekly planning meetings with Channel partners (Ecommerce, Wholesale, Retail) to gather input and better forecast demand.
• Build sales budgets by channel, by account, and by SKU in collaboration with Channel teams and Finance.
• Evaluate sell-through results at key Wholesale accounts to identify sell-in opportunities, collaborating with the Buying and Planning teams at those partners to optimize sales and mitigate inventory risks.
• Collaborate with the Channel, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure sales and inventory plans align.
• Review demand and sales forecasts to identify sales risks and opportunities to maximize sales and profitability.
• Prepare sales reporting and insights on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for all sales channels and total company. Develop tools and processes to automate these activities.
• Manage chargebacks, deductions, RTVs, damages, and other contra sales expenses that impact sales channels.
• Measure and report forecast accuracy and other KPIs relating to demand planning and supply chain for continuous improvement. Develop and maintain SOPs for sales forecasting and planning processes.
• Partner with Supply Chain to ensure stock needs are met to deliver sales forecasts by channel.
• Identify and resolve supply shortfalls. Develop action plans with cross-functional stakeholders to avert stock outs.
• Provide the Sourcing & Development team with relevant data to assist in new product launch forecasting.
• Review excess and obsolete inventory risks. Partner with Channel teams and Finance to develop exit strategies, disposition, and reserves.
• Support the annual budget process by providing omnichannel account analysis including gross shipments, returns, and insights around inventory optimization.

Core Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 7-8 years of planning experience in an omnichannel business in the consumer branded space.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Excel with a talent and passion for building new tools to streamline reporting and planning activities.
• Advanced analytical skills with a demonstrated track record of improving sales and profitability through astute insights on the business.
• Familiarity with ERP and data warehouse tools, NetSuite preferred.
• A natural relationship-builder. Able to develop trusting and collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal and external partners. Resourceful in obtaining and sharing information with team members.
• Clear and organized communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a knack for planning and prioritization.
• Able to manage competing priorities with thoroughness while driving continuous improvements to meet the needs of a high-growth business.

The compensation for this position is $130,000 annually. The compensation package will also include a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications.
