Software Quality Test Engineer (Performance)

Position Description
Looking for a dynamic opportunity solving performance issues for a large IP serving multiple clients? We are looking for an intermediate Performance Tester with an excellent ability to work collaboratively. Person should have a high degree of consulting ability, as well as Performance testing capabilities for evaluating functional/technical requirements and developing test plans that efficiently verify delivered solutions meet those requirements. Someone with experience analyzing systems for performance bottlenecks, experience identifying protocols used to communicate between application components, or testing web applications will find this opportunity interesting and intriguing. Your future duties and responsibilities
• Participate in the Load and Performance tools evaluation
• Participate in the selection of scenarios for performance testing
• Create, execute and debug the test scenarios with data
• Lead the creation and debugging the test scenarios with data
• Learn interconnections between application components and identify performance bottlenecks

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Required
• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience
• Requirements Analysis and verification
• Performance testing experience using a variety of tools
• Exposure to JIRA or other bug reporting tool
• Familiar with load and performance test tools, e.g. JMeter, Load Runner
• Ability to learn and use new software applications quickly and easily
• Excellent technical documentation skills
• Strong analytical skills; ability to root cause data issues
• Attention to detail
• Strong written, oral, and communication skills
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles
• Software development skills, e.g. JAVA, C++ and understanding of software development best practices
• Strong Interpersonal skills, works well on team
• Self-motivated and self-teaching, Can work successfully on multi-site team
Desired:
• Industry recognized testing certification(s)
• Development experience within Agile methodology
• Experience in Shell Scripting
• Familiar with SQL
• Familiar with Kubernetes and/or Containerization
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows OS

This position is located in our Lafayette, LA, but can also be out of our Lebanon, VA, or Knoxville, TN office, however a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Due to the nature of the government contracts this position requires US Citizenship

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $68,000 - $168,000
