Walmart Data Ventures is focused on productizing Walmart’s rich data assets to better serve customers and provide data products that deliver actionable, customer-centric insights to help merchants and brands make better business decisions.
Walmart Data Ventures is looking for a Senior Manager Sales Strategy who will be not only a driver, but an effective cross-functional collaborator as they team to a) Support and challenge strategy through insightful media analyses in partnership with our Business Development and Account Management teams, b) identify opportunities for improvement on existing in-market commercial activities, working with multiple cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will be able to understand the qualitative as well as the quantitative aspects of developing a holistic GTM commercial strategy. As the Senior Manager Sales Strategy, you will be able to articulate the needs of Sales from the marketer standpoint. You’ll be able to lead cross-functional teams through conflict to a workable resolution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong baseline knowledge of how the consumer-packaged goods industry operates so they have an understanding of the various interdependencies and hand-offs across the functional teams in order to create and implement large scale strategies.
In this role, you will:
- Partner cross-functionally to develop necessary narratives around key sales initiatives.
- Frame and break down complex business problems into key components, design analysis to drive insights and answers to critical questions and recommend practical solutions to get results.
- Participate in and contribute to establishing KPI and other metrics.
- Develop formal reporting packages for sales effectiveness and productivity.
- Conducts sales productivity analysis and provide actionable recommendations.
- Optimize lead qualifications and manage pipeline reporting.
- Leads a team initiative to document best practices and create/maintain a team repository of example documents, standard template documents, etc
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide recommendation to solve business issue.
- Support management in strategic, operational planning and ensure decisions align overall Walmart Luminate sales approach and goals.
- Support ad-hoc projects related to business growth in new markets and initiatives.
Required & Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent 4-year degree required; or related experience (required)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales operations, sales solutions, sales strategy, or account management.
- Strong verbal and written communications – able to communicate effectively across varied audience base such as Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Leadership.
- Analytically minded and able to use data driven insights along with qualitative inputs to develop a sales strategy that is aligned with Walmart Luminate’s overall GTM narrative.
- Expertise in Excel, Salesforce, SQL relational databases and BI tools like PowerBI.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple, simultaneous solutions executed by support teams.
- Experience developing or overseeing quantitative analysis and delivering actionable insights.
- Self-starter mentality and entrepreneurial spirit with a strong drive for excellence and delivery of results.
- High level of accountability; proven ability to take ownership and solve problems.
- Ability to simplify complex processes and business issues.
