What will you do? As a Research Intern in our Drug Discovery team, you will be at the forefront of our target validation and assay development efforts. You will work closely with our experienced scientists to design and execute experiments using state-of-the-art molecular biology tools and techniques. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the advancement of early drug discovery programs.
- Conducting experiments to validate potential drug targets and assess the efficacy of candidate drugs.
- Developing and optimizing assays to evaluate the activity and selectivity of drug candidates.
- Analyzing and interpreting experimental data and presenting your findings to the team.
- Contributing to the design and implementation of innovative research strategies.
Interns will be trained on how to perform the necessary laboratory techniques.
What minimum qualifications do we require? - University enrolled student pursuing a graduate degree in biomedical sciences with a strong commitment to pursuing cancer research
- 1-2 years of independent laboratory research
What additional qualifications will make you a stronger candidate? - Strong understanding of cellular and molecular biology principles and techniques.
- Experience with laboratory techniques (cell culture, pipetting, molecular biology, Western blotting, DNA/RNA extraction).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced research environment.
Typical Working Hours: Monday-Friday: 9-5 pm (40 hours/week). Program dates are expected to be May 30th - August 18th, with flexibility as needed.
Location: 45 Sidney Street, Cambridge, MA 02139
Accessible via public transportation: Central Square Stop on the Red Line or Bus 1 and 47, Mass Ave/Sidney Street Stop.
Remote-Work: It would be ideal for the candidate to work on-site in order to participate in program events, at least in a hybrid capacity 3 days per week. We will provide a laptop needed to perform work remotely or on-site.
