Job Overview:
As the Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the acquisition of construction materials and services, ensuring the best possible pricing and quality.
The Purchasing Assistant role requires excellent organization and communication skills as you’ll be interfacing with a variety of vendors, project managers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate with vendors for the best possible pricing and quality of materials and services needed.
- Identify vendors to meet project requirements and maintain relationships with them.
- Evaluate vendors based on criteria, such as price, quality, delivery, reliability, and customer services.
- Ensure that the procurement process is in compliance with all government regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed.
- Research and evaluate potential vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases and invoices.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of purchases to project managers.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Purchasing or related field
- Purchasing experience at a construction company (civil or multifamily builder preferred)
