The Remote Patient Access Registration Supervisor supports the Patient Access Registration Manager and is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the Patient Access Registration Associates within his/her assigned unit(s). This position has direct responsibility for the PMG RAs and indirect responsibility for the workload of our RCM Vendors. This position is also responsible for serving as the liaison between the regional management teams and the revenue cycle management vendors. Develops, recommends, and administers company policies and procedures related to the Front-End Revenue Cycle Management functions. Additionally, the Patient Access Registration Team Lead is responsible for providing account registration, billing, and administrative support to internal and vendor departments. The duties include gathering and verifying current demographic information including insurance information; contacting insurance companies (as necessary); processing weekly billing; completing and submitting daily and monthly statistics. Perform required tasks on OBR, Master Database, PBI, pMD, BBS, GPMS, NextGen, MS Excel, Word, and Windows.

Ensure that any changes to the account registration and billing processes is relayed to the necessary staff and that each employee is trained on the new procedures.

Works with staff to ensure accurate and timely registration, insurance verification and billing data based on approved policy standards.

Monitor the PBI worklists daily, to ensure timely follow-up on all holds, maintaining within the established “past due hold code duration” time.

Monitoring all OBR edit reports and Data Repair 3 times per week, (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) to ensure quantity and timeliness of registrations.

Monitor the PBI worklists daily, to ensure timely resolution of all registration hold codes that are still not billed and sit in the “released bucket of unbilled A/R.”

Monitor the claims manager reports to ensure all edits are worked in a timely manner.

Work with leadership and department staff on specific unit issues, where established registration and billing guidelines are not being followed.

Retrain Associates on job performance related issues as needed.

Reviews registration and eligibility denials and provides feedback to staff timely to meet organizational goals.

Participate in monthly telephone conference meetings with teams to allow best practice and other techniques to be shared.

Work with Collection Managers and department staff on specific unit issues, where established registration and billing guidelines are not being followed.

Completes projects, reports, etc. as requested by Patient Access Registration Manager or Director.

Responsible for completing quality audits on individual associates’ work at least once per quarter.

Responsible for reporting

Ensure adherence to all Sox Key Controls surrounding the census reconciliation requirements.

Maintain reconciliation within 10 days of admit date.

Maintain the cpt summary of missing charges and registration with no charges within the established goals.

Monitor for adherence that all discharge dates are entered timely.

Work closely with Coding to resolve and put in place corrective action on Vendor errors resulting in constant rework.

Complete all PTO requests and submission of related documents, including timesheets to the Corporate Payroll department as required.

Participate in monthly telephone conference meetings with teams to allow best practice and other techniques to be shared.

Obtains feedback from the Collection Department on registration errors and works with the individual associates to correct future errors.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must possess ability to be effective and efficient in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing tasks and priorities.

Must possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Ability to delegate assignments and follow through on details is essential.

Excellent consumer relations skills required.

Ability to work on projects and meet the overall objective, ability to meet pre-determined deadlines.

Ability to supervise, counsel, train, and develop staff.

Proficient in Microsoft products.

Bilingual a plus.

 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

4 years of healthcare related experience with 2 years of supervisory experience.

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
