Job description
Temporary R&D Chemist
Location : Irvine, CA- onsite
Shift : M-F, standard working hours
Pay : 40-50/hr
2-3 month temporary role with possibility for extension or conversion
Responsibilities :
Operate and comprehend various analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, ICP, UV, FTIR, Dissolution tester, and others within an analytical laboratory environment.
Utilize MS Word, Excel, and chromatography data management software such as Empower, ChemStation.
Validate and verify new and existing USP methods, while establishing a robust documentation system for method validation protocols, reports, and analytical method SOPs.
Support analytical methods and method development for pharmaceuticals, including solids, semisolids, and liquid dosages, focusing on strength and purity confirmation of products.
Conduct method improvements and modifications on existing analytical methods for pharmaceuticals.
Undertake method development and feasibility studies for assay, trace elements, and associated characteristics for pharmaceutical products.
Troubleshoot problems related to analytical methods for pharmaceuticals, encompassing raw materials, finished product method development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and enhancement of analytical methodologies.
Collaborate with the Lab Manager to establish a comprehensive system for pharmaceutical analytical methods, including documentation protocols.
Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to ascertain chemical and physical properties.
Coordinate with the Quality Control department for the seamless transfer of validated methods to QC chemists.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, master’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or the chemical industry.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and chromatography data collection and management software such as Empower, ChemStation, etc.
Understanding and application of cGMP principles and FDA regulations for pharmaceuticals.
