Job description
Thank you for your interest in the Hip Hop Dance Instructor position at Bella Ballet Kentlands and Empower by Bella Ballet! Our studios are located in the vibrant neighborhood of the Kentlands in Gaithersburg, MD.
We have two studio locations, Bella Ballet, providing classes for ages 2-7, and Empower, providing classes for ages 7-18. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high-energy, and motivated Hip Hop teacher with a strong dance and teaching background to join our studio this summer and/or fall. You will be responsible for training students in Hip Hop dance and inspiring and encouraging students to improve their skills. Our studios focus not only on quality dance instruction, but also instilling confidence in our students!
As a Hip Hop dance instructor, you will be responsible for ensuring that classes run smoothly and constructive feedback is offered. It is essential that you have a background in Hip-Hop and are successful in creating positive learning environments. Our award-winning classes start in September and end in June with a Recital Performance. We are a family at Bella Ballet and Empower by Bella Ballet and are looking for new members to add to our team, so If you have a passion for teaching children and a love for dance, we urge you to apply!
Prior experience in dance teaching is required. Light cleaning between and after classes is part of the position. Upon hiring, you would be required to sign an NDA and a Non-Compete Agreement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality Hip Hop dance instruction to students ages 5-18
- Develop and execute curriculum effectively
- Communicate with a wide range of teachers, students, and families
- Encourage and motivate students to reach their goals
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Choreograph for recitals and performances
- Conduct private and/or group classes as needed
- Maintain a fun, empowering, and creative learning environment
- Remain current in the discipline of Hip Hop dance an choreography
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Hip Hop
- Knowledge of Contemporary, Musical Theater, and Acro preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create lesson plans and curriculum
- Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills
- Highly energetic, creative, and reliable
- Willingness to provide feedback and corrective techniques
- Ability to choreograph routines for recital performances
- Capable of conducting group and/or private lessons as needed
- Ability to foster a positive and creative learning environment
- Proven expertise in creating effective curriculum and lesson plans
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, leadership, motivation, and problem solving
- Possess a dynamic and creative attitude with a dependable work ethic
