As FCI's Graphic Designer / Marketing Communications Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting all areas of FCI's marketing communications department successes.
This mid-level position provides you an opportunity to apply your content creation talents and organizational skills to achieve FCI's marketing goals while you continue your professional growth.
This is an onsite position that reports to the San Marcos, CA facility. Remote work is not available. No travel is required, and there is a registered Alternative Workweek Schedule in place that allows this position to work a 4/10 workweek.
Who we are looking for: We seek a highly organized, results-oriented team player with exceptional content creation capabilities to join our fast-paced marketing communications department, who can perform various marketing tasks each day and be relied upon to handle the demands of this position. While there is a learning curve, we are looking for a contributor who can complete tasks daily with little oversight.

Key Accountabilities: - Contributes to timely and accurate delivery of marketing and sales collateral materials.
- Includes creation and distribution of advertising materials, layout of web landing pages and e-newsletters, create/update sales and marketing collateral (e.g. brochures, data sheets, ordering guides, price lists, e-newsletters, white papers, magazine articles, videos, presentation materials, website updates, social media, posters, etc.).
- Ensures design layouts are consistent and follow FCI company brand guidelines.
- Supports the marketing communications department with various marketing projects.
What You'll Get to Do: Here are some examples of day-to-day duties:
- Create and update marketing and sales collateral, such as brochures, data sheets, price lists, layout of landing pages, and email marketing templates for digital advertising.
- Create and update content / images/ layout for FCI's websites, email marketing platforms, web landing pages, and social media networks (LinkedIn, YouTube, company blog, etc.).
Here are some examples of weekly responsibilities: - Creation and distribution of FCI ads per media schedule (ex. new banner ads, web reskin ads, social media ads, resizing existing FCI agency-created ads).
- Design images to accompany press releases, technical articles, webinars, and other PR activities.
- Gather and log web updates needed for FCI's Rep Support website and distribute them to FCI's web developer weekly. Verify accuracy upon completion.
- Supports the marketing department with a variety of marcom projects.
- Processes and routes sales leads to data entry staff and ensures correct and timely entry.
Here are some examples of monthly responsibilities: - Work as a marketing team member to incorporate a continuous stream of new content and features into FCI's websites that drive new and repeat visitors, improve customer experience, and results for improved SEO (examples: Create/post images and PDF documents to FCI's Kentico CMS website and FCI's intranet and rep support websites).
- Work as part of FCI's social media team to advance FCI's presence w/ social media networks.
- Design/layout of FCI's monthly customer e-newsletters (content provided by FCI's marcom mgr.)
- Support FCI Sales representatives with literature, images, tradeshow and promotional material requests.
- Tracks and maintains literature and tradeshow inventory usage log.
- Close coordination with FCI's Engineering administration team on revision control and approval processing for marketing-produced controlled documentation.
Here are some examples of annual responsibilities: - Creates engaging videos that address business, brand, marketing, and user requirements (examples: short product explainer/educational videos, mini-infomercials, animations for social media,+).
- Take photos/videos at FCI Company events (employee events, picnics, holiday parties).
- Works with the marketing communications manager on tradeshow/special event planning and execution.
- Maintains up-to-date database throughout the year of all marketing materials, including product launch materials, photos, price lists, literature revision updates, advertising materials, web updates, etc.
- Works collaboratively on various FCI Marketing projects with outside service resources such as PR agencies, advertising agencies, web developers, magazines, printers, etc.
The following qualifications are required to hold this position: - A bachelor's degree in graphic design from an accredited school or equivalent work experience is required. A degree in marketing, marketing communications, business, English, or journalism is a plus.
- 3+ years of graphic design/marketing communications experience, preferably working in a B:B corporate environment or creative agency.
- Must have advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects video editing, etc.)
- Artistic creativity and knowledge of photography and video production are essential.
- Solid working knowledge of website administration for a Content Management System (CMS), preferably Kentico.

An ability to translate technical materials and concepts into exciting and compelling printed/visual materials for prospective customers and the sales team. Very concerned with meeting deadlines. Strong willingness to learn.
