Description
Position Purpose:
Provide consultation and support services in instructional design, strategies, assessment, and innovative e-learning techniques. Perform in-depth needs analysis to uncover learner and organizational needs, identify learning and performance gaps and changes in work processes, procedures and technologies. Design and develop various types of learning programs and content (e-learning, classroom, webinars, PowerPoint, Computer Based Training, video, photography, etc.). Use interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video, and audio to communicate to and educate internal and external clients/customers. Develop and maintain a pool of technical advice, expertise, and guidance for less-experienced staff.
What You'll Do:
Develops and maintains course materials including instructor manuals, participant guides, e-learning, train the trainer materials, job aids, evaluations, and tests utilizing best practices, policies, standards, and procedures. Produces high-quality classroom-based or online learning modules using advanced technologies that interface with a learning management system.
Designs, develops, and produces custom e-learning programs via web applications utilizing leading-edge technologies. Creates content and implements design principles to educational materials for traditional learning and blended solutions. Designs, tests, updates, and maintains e-learning, traditional, and blended learning solutions using unique combinations of advanced interactive media, state-of-the-practice techniques, electronic tools, and systems.
Designs, develops, and produces custom e-learning programs via web applications utilizing leading-edge technologies. Creates content and implements design principles to educational materials for traditional learning and blended solutions. Designs, tests, updates, and maintains e-learning, traditional, and blended learning solutions using unique combinations of advanced interactive media, state-of-the-practice techniques, electronic tools, and systems.
Trains, coaches, mentors, and leads a team of designers and developers in creating and developing online learning modules, live web-based training sessions, supporting materials, or a blended solution that facilitates their design and development, resulting in effective and efficient instruction.
Consults with management and works closely with development team, support staffs, curriculum developers, subject matter experts, and other internal and external clients/customers to ensure working functionality between e-learning materials, learning management systems, and intranet or internet sites.
Leads projects related to e-learning training program design, development, and implementation to serve both internal and external clients/customers. Plans and conducts meetings, action items, professional development activities, tasks related to certification, specialized training, and other projects.
Work Environment: Typical office environment. Some travel may be required.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:
Required Education:
Bachelor's in a job-related field OR
4 years job related work experience OR
Associate's and 2 years job related work experience
Required Work Experience:
4 years instructional design, electronic media design, or related work experience utilizing multiple course creation tools such as Lectora, Articulate, Toolbook, Storyline, etc.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, conceptual, and planning skills.
Ability to edit audio/video files for consistency.
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously both independently and with groups.
Intermediate knowledge of needs assessment techniques.
General knowledge of methods for reporting statistics.
Ability to work continually and effectively under stringent pressure including constant and numerous deadlines and company and contract ambiguities.
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral and visual media.
Required Software and Other Tools:
Advanced knowledge of eLearning application tools such as Lectora, Articulate, Toolbook, Adobe eLearning Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, SQL, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Questionmark, Captivate, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Flash or related tools.
Video and audio editing experience is a plus.
Knowledge of processors, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Knowledge of national standard for web development and online learning (SCORM/AICC) or other evolving e-learning standards.
We Prefer that You Have:
Two years experience creating technical training materials for an IT organization.
Prior experience in training development within IS Training.
Three years experience working within a BCBSSC Information Systems Department
Certification in adobe products for graphics design or authoring software.
