Administrative Assistant 2 Location Des Moines, IA (Southwestern Hills area) :

The Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) is seeking a motivated and flexible individual to join our team in the Health Facilities Division as an Administrative Assistant 2 for the Acute and Continuing Care (ACC) Bureau. Who We Are DIA is a multifaceted regulatory agency charged with protecting the health, safety, and well-being of Iowans. DIA's Health and Safety Division is responsible for inspecting and licensing health care providers and suppliers to ensure the health and safety of vulnerable Iowans. The Administrative Assistant 2 position is responsible for assisting with the certification process for ACC surveys, the ACC facility licensure process, data collection for multiple purposes, including an internal dashboard, and coordination of stakeholder education. To accomplish our Mission, the individual selected for this position will assist the Acute and Continuing Care Bureau staff and external stakeholders in a customer-service focused and professional manner. What We're Seeking The successful candidate for the fast-paced and multi-faceted Administrative Assistant 2 position is a self-starter interested in preforming a variety of tasks. The position reports directly to the ACC Bureau Chief. Desired qualifications include:

What You'll Do You will be an integral member of our team, providing direct support to the Department's Health Facilities operations by:
  • Coordinating and monitoring certification activities for ACC facilities
  • Coordinating and monitoring ACC facility licensure applications and renewals
  • Assists with sending survey information to ACC Health Facilities Surveyors
  • Obtains medical records and vital records as needed for survey activities
  • Collects and monitors data
  • Coordinates requests for waivers to state rules
  • Coordinates educational publications and training opportunities
  • Provides administrative support to multiple leadership team members
  • Assists facility staff with database access
