Summary:

Information Technology Services is a team of dedicated professionals providing core technology and cybersecurity services to agencies statewide, enabling state employees to serve Idaho's citizens. We sincerely hope you will consider being part of our success.

Information Technology Services (ITS), currently has one opening for an IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III - Application Hosting position in our Chinden office in Boise. The selected individual will work with a dynamic team that is responsible for the operation of critical digital services to Idaho citizens and State employees.

Qualified candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of how to design, install, and maintain complex, multi-platform web, content, and document management systems while ensuring the security, quality, and integrity of the systems; and perform related work. The incumbent should also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, have the ability to interpret user and system requirements in order to design the product to meet the requirements, and have the ability to present complex information through a variety of methods including written and verbal.

Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass multiple, comprehensive fingerprint-based background checks specific to the agencies ITS supports.

Example of duties:

• Provides hands-on technical support of a complex, multi-platform technology infrastructure.
• Performs system administration functions of internal and public-facing websites and hosted applications.
• Administers content management systems (such as SharePoint, WordPress, or Drupal). Supports document management systems (such as DocuShare and Laserfiche).
• Works across teams and customer organizations to coordinate IT operations and system integrations.
• Implements new or updated websites, hosted applications, content management systems, document management systems, and security updates.
• Implements and tests system backups, as well as high-availability features and functions. Manages and supports load balancing, DNS, and SSL certificate issuing services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Considerable knowledge of current information technology trends and capabilities.

• Typically gained by a bachelor's degree directly related to information technology OR at least four years of work experience in information technology. Education and experience must be within the last five years.

Experience planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server, or storage systems.

• Typically met by at least four years of full-time work experience where planning, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network, server or storage systems was part of the primary job responsibilities.

Resolving network or server problems.

• Typically met by at least four years of full-time work experience (within the last five years) where resolving network or server problems was part of the primary responsibilities.

Working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.

• Typically gained by at least four years of full-time work experience where interviewing and consulting with clients/users to develop and implement solutions to meet computing requirements in a business environment was part of the primary responsibilities.

Experience as a technical lead implementing or supporting network, server, or storage systems.

• Typically gained by at least four years of experience as a lead or Subject Matter Expert in implementing or supporting network, server, or storage systems.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with web editing programs, graphic editing applications, scripting languages, and relational database applications and structures.
• Experience administering Microsoft SharePoint (on premises and/or online), content management systems (such as WordPress and Drupal) and experience with associated applications (such as Power Apps and Flow.)
• Experience administering document management systems (such as DocuShare and Laserfiche).
