Job description
The Summer Camp Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting in purchasing and coordinating camp supplies. Other responsibilities include program support.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College courses in science and/ or education preferred.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience teaching or working with the public in a classroom, informal educational/public setting preferred.
- Administrative and clerical experience including producing correspondence and documents.
- Strong computer skills with relevant software applications.
- Excellent customer service skills and team player.
- Excellent verbal and written (spelling, punctuation & grammar) communication skills.
- Must be organized and able to maintain a clean work environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
- Proven experience in information and communication management (ability to communicate with and disperse information to staff and parents).
- Physical ability to lift, move, and organize supplies that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long period of times.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some holidays, weekends and evenings.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Chinese, or Korean desired.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the preparation and delivery of educational summer camp programs.
- Assists in organizing, and sorting consumable and non-consumable supplies for camp programs.
- Assists in daily administrative and operational tasks.
- Assists with the implementation and maintenance office systems.
- Handles customer services duties including in-person or over the phone inquiries and handles it appropriately.
- Researches products and activities for use in classroom activities.
- Responsible for operating all office equipment.
- Handles office space in an organized and cleaned manner.
- Performs other duties as required.
COMPENSATION
Salary Rage: $21.00- $22.00 / Hour
