Position Summary
The Grow Your Own Program application is for internal employees of Eugene School District 4J. Click

This project is a collaborative partnership between Pacific University, University of Oregon, Bushnell University and Lane Community College. We are working together to transform teacher preparation by designing a program that is striving to support teacher candidates. Our strategic areas of focus are; recruitment and mentoring.
4J is committed to investing in those professionals who in turn desire to invest in 4J students, and are committed to working in Eugene School District 4J, as they pursue licensure, and positions that are available based on funding, vacancies and according to policy and procedures as established by 4J.
Candidates for the 4J GYO must:
- Have graduated from high school and
- Employed in a regular position in Eugene School District 4J and
- Qualify for admittance to an accredited institution of higher education and
- Maintain employment in good standing while actively pursuing licensure at an accredited education preparation program.
University of Oregon, Pacific University, Bushnell University or plan to attend Lane Community College to obtain an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer, AAOT.
The 4J Grow Your Own Program is aligned to Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and the commitments of the Oregon Educator Equity Act in diversifying our teaching workforce by actively recruiting & retaining our workforce.
The 4J Grow Your Own Program provides scholars with professional development awards up to $7,500 per academic year.

4J Grow Your Own administers professional development awards of up to $7,500 per academic year, per qualifying student. This will be applied directly to credit tuition, fees and dues. The professional development award is not intended to completely fund a student's education. We encourage you to apply for other funding opportunities including FAFSA/ORSAA, grants, scholarships and loans.
