Job description

We are seeking an organized and customer-focused individual to work a variety of roles to support dining operations for our campus. This is an entry-level position responsible for ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction in our fast paced dining room, food truck and concessions environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and respond to their inquiries and requests in a friendly and professional manner
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive and upbeat attitude
• Maintain knowledge of Roanoke College's policies and procedures regarding food services
• Assist in stocking inventory and backroom needs
• Ensure all areas of the kitchen and dining room are clean and sanitary

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous customer service experience
• Excellent communication skills & interpersonal skills
• Efficiency in a high-pressure environment
• Flexible schedule and availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Food handling experience
• Familiarity with computerized food ordering systems

Nice-to-Haves:

• ServSafe certification
• Reliable transportation
• A knowledge of local food trends

This is a part-time non-benefitted, 9 month position that follows the academic calendar. Uniforms and non-slip safety shoe allowance provided, along with a free meal on scheduled work days.
