Position Purpose:
As Senior Technical Director of our Engineering Team in Technical & Performance, you will lead a team responsible for technical leadership across Municipal Water Contract Operations in Veolia North America. The main objectives include:
- Leading a geographically dispersed team to collaboratively work to provide oversight of and support for engineering activities related to the operation of the drinking water, wastewater and biosolids systems.
- Supporting existing operations with world-class technical expertise to solve current challenges and to promote operational excellence and safety across our sites; this includes process optimization, greenhouse gas reduction and efficiencies in chemical, power, and water use;
- Helping with our growth initiatives and business development by providing technical expertise on operability, risk management, and technical/engineering input on new deals, and;
- This role will collaborate closely with Directors of other T&P Groups to create an environment of creativity and innovation to contribute to the implementation of our Strategy.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead Team of Technical Experts to Support Existing Operations
- Engage key assets and critical sites across the United States with technical expertise to safely optimize operations for process compliance, greenhouse gas reduction, and efficiency in natural gas, power, and water use.
- Perform site process assessments and evaluate site energy and operating costs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex operational problems with local teams, as-needed.
- Develop and implement best practice standard operating procedures across Veolia sites.
- Perform analysis of opportunities for technical and operational improvements to generate value to our customers.
- Develop and oversee implementation of internal programs, KPIs, dashboards and reports for the continuous monitoring of operations.
- Provide support with Hach WIMS database set up and use by operation teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with pertinent water industry professionals and environmental regulators (AWWA, WRF, EPA, State, etc.).
- Lead, develop, coach a team of resources in the Technical & Performance group.
- Prepares and validates Department budgets.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering roles, with demonstrated leadership.
- Track record of success in sustainable or environmental engineering businesses.
