Job Description:
Quality Healthcare Staffing is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive physical therapy services to school-aged disabled students in various school settings within the East Ramapo Central School District.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with school personnel, attend relevant hearings and meetings, and maintain accurate records to ensure the highest quality of services.
The Physical Therapist will report to the District's Director of Clinical Services and is expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and consultation Physical Therapy services to students.
- Evaluate students to assess their Physical Therapy needs and abilities.
- Attend and assist the District in impartial hearings, mediations, or resolution sessions.
- Obtain prescriptions for services from parents or persons in parental relation.
- Travel to different locations within the District as required.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Clinical Services and School Building Leadership.
- Prohibit engagement in activities that could be construed as a conflict of interest.
- Maintain confidentiality of information related to students and schools.
- Participate in meetings as requested by the District Supervisor, including parent-teacher conferences.
- Draft, revise, or re-draft IEP goals and objectives for students.
- Conduct annual evaluations of students to determine progress.
- Submit required records to the Committee of Special Education (CSE) in a timely manner.
- Participate in Medicaid submissions and comply with Medicaid regulations.
Qualifications:
The Physical Therapist must meet the following qualifications:
- Licensed to provide Physical Therapy by the State of New York.
- Fingerprint clearance through the State Education Department.
- Proof of not being on the medical exclusion list.
- Timely log Medicaid documentation online and submit attendance records.
- Valid individual NPI (National Provider Identification) number.
- Familiarity with Medicaid policies and knowledge of IEP Direct.
- Availability during typical school hours and willingness to provide services throughout the District.
- Own transportation is required.
- Provide a minimum of three (3) references.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with disabled student populations.
- Experience working in school settings, with references from other schools.
- Vendors who are the actual service provider
