ADP is hiring a Chief Architect, Resiliency
We are seeking a Chief Architect for Resiliency to enhance the resilience posture of our enterprise product portfolio. This strategic role involves harmonizing efforts across Product and Infrastructure teams, engaging with vendors, and liaising with business units to reinforce system robustness. Your mission will be to drive the resilience agenda, ensuring high availability and seamless disaster recovery across our services. You’ll be responsible for enabling a resilient architecture that can withstand and adapt to challenges, setting a standard for excellence. Your influence will extend beyond systems and operations, embedding a culture of resilience at the core of our organization. Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Architecture Leadership: Oversee the design and implementation of resilient architectures across application, integration, and infrastructure domains.
- Cloud and On-Premises Infrastructure Expertise: Design and manage resilient solutions in both cloud-based and on-premises environments.
- Chaos Engineering Initiatives: Hands-on experience in designing and building Chaos Engineering discipline. Lead chaos engineering efforts to proactively identify and mitigate potential system weaknesses.
- Standards for Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and enforce standards for system monitoring and alerting to ensure rapid detection and response.
- Resiliency Architecture Reviews: Facilitate regular reviews of the resiliency architecture to identify areas for enhancement.
- Enterprise-wide Collaboration and stakeholder management : Collaborate with various teams across the organization to align and prioritize resiliency and recovery efforts.
- Incident Response and Recovery: Lead incident response planning and support critical incident resolutions and post-mortem. Apply learnings across the enterprise
- Training and Development: Foster resilience awareness and provide tool and best practices training within the organization.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to continuously refine resilience strategies.
- Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular reports on resilience activities, risks, and improvements to the executive team.

Qualifications:
- 15+ years in systems engineering and architecture with a focus on resilience, demonstrating leadership in the creation and maintenance of robust, large-scale distributed systems.
- A track record of successfully architecting and deploying enterprise-level solutions that prioritize system uptime and data integrity across various operational scenarios.
- Master’s or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or substantial equivalent professional experience with a focus on systems resilience.
- Strong dedication to customer needs, with excellent communication and the ability to build lasting relationships, alongside the capability to articulate complex resilience strategies in a clear and impactful manner.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement systems that ensure high availability, support massive transaction volumes, and facilitate seamless disaster recovery processes.
- In-depth knowledge of resilient web application frameworks, fault-tolerant middleware, microservices architecture, and RESTful API integration.
- Deep insight into the complexities of multi-AZ and multi-Region cloud platforms, with a keen understanding of how these impact system resilience and disaster recovery planning.
- Proven experience in the ongoing management of mission-critical systems that require constant uptime, including out-of-hours support and rapid response to incidents.
- Knowledgeable in evaluating and deciding on trade-offs between consistency, availability, and partition tolerance, especially in the context of system failures and recovery strategies.
- Well-versed in various cloud service models such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, with hands-on experience in designing resilient services on leading public cloud platforms.
- Proficient in Chaos Engineering principles and practices, with experience in designing and conducting experiments to validate the system’s capability to withstand turbulent conditions.
- Skilled in implementing observability solutions that provide real-time insights into the performance and health of systems, aiding in proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Experience with AIOps platforms that leverage machine learning to automate analysis and support decision-making for IT operations, improving efficiency and system resilience.
