About the Role & Program

Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for The Walt Disney Company, encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing: recorded music (Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing, and Disney Concerts. DMG distributes music both physically and digitally, and also licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming, and consumer products.
The Artists & Repertoire (A&R) department at Disney Music Group is responsible for identifying, cultivating and guiding the careers of all music talent (artists, songwriters, producers). This team also A&R’s all soundtracks and special projects released by Walt Disney Records. We are looking for an intern that will participate in various aspects of the office’s administrative, publishing, and creative processes.
What You Will Do
Assist with cleaning up metadata on songs in our internal repertoire system
Archive new releases into our repertoire system
Assist in setting up newly submitted songs
Conduct Artists & Repertoire ( A&R) research
Assist the team on additional projects as needed
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience with using the Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with researching and/or using a range of tools to acquire information and present findings
Experience working in collaborative environments and managing multiple projects
High attention to detail and experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience (academic or internship) in Music, Music Publishing, Copyrights, or related industry
Major or previous coursework in Music or related field
Experience with Disco
Education
Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year or recently graduated within the past 6 months preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Internship Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through August 2024
Fully available to work 40 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Burbank, California area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
