Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Repair Station Quality Manager/Chief Inspector will be responsible to the inspection activities of the FAR145 Repair Station.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist, supervise, train and direct applicable personnel assigned to the inspection activities.
- Ensure that applicable technical data used by the repair station is kept current with the latest revisions.
- Maintaining the current status of all repair station calibrated tooling and equipment.
- Submit reports of defects or unairworthy conditions in accordance with § 145.221.
- Ensure the proper disposition of rejected and unserviceable parts.
- Monitor the Receiving Inspectors in the accomplishments of their duties.
- Ensure that the required records, reports, and forms are properly completed.
- The Chief Inspector issues stamps (if required)
- The Chief Inspector will issue appropriate authorization to qualified personnel.
- Responsible for maintaining Repair Station roster, ensuring updates are completed within 5 working days
- Responsible for updating the Temporary Contract Personnel Roster.
- Responsible for the Parts Control and Inspection Procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that all major alterations and major repairs are properly identified and documented.
- Responsible for listing discrepancies noted during the inspection on the work order.
- Responsible for ensuring that in-process inspections are complied with.
- Responsible for ensuring that final inspections are complied with.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have excellent management and communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience and/or training
- FAA A&P Certificate
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus.
- Familiarity with business skills as relating to maintenance operation, i.e. budgeting, cost control, labor allocation, parts and inventory management
- Proficient in MS Office suite; Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
