This job description details a hybrid Power Platform Innovator position that will support a client in Kelly Field, near Lackland AFB. Candidates should anticipate being on-site 1-2 days a week.
Teksouth is seeking a candidate interested in continued growth in the emerging technology of Power Platform product solutions. As the Power Platform is a more recent addition to Microsoft technologies, we are willing to consider applicants with a broad range of technical and/or functional backgrounds in lieu of direct years of experience with Power Platform solution development.
In this role specifically, the Power Platform Innovator is responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of best-in-class business intelligence reporting/visualizations via Power BI. You will operate at the intersection of business, analytics, and design, and collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders and system owners for building comprehensive and complex data visualizations. This role requires understanding and shaping business requirements to design, develop, and implement visual analytics solutions.
You will utilize other aspects of Microsoft Power Platform, communicating and collaborating with customers to convert their existing business processes into Power App solutions. Responsibilities
- Design and develop Power Platform solutions for government customers.
- Collaborate with customers to determine specific needs and requirements and to counsel within the area of expertise.
- Participate in meetings, task groups, teams, reviews, and other environments to assist in collaborative solutions.
- Review project deliverables for quality, completeness, and adherence to applicable regulations, customer requirements, and Teksouth standards.
- Stay informed on best practices, new technologies, and approaches.
- Design and develop business intelligence/visualization solutions using standard Power BI per business requirements and in alignment with data and analytics strategy.
- Establish and maintain data and analytics strategy.
- Engage with stakeholders on agile prototyping to demonstrate the art of the possible and find creative solutions for complex business use cases.
- Responsible for the design and development of compelling data visualizations via a variety of techniques including data storytelling.
- Build tailored visualizations and dashboards, along with defining the required supporting data architecture.
- Provide thought guidance, best practices, and standards required to deliver effective and sustainable visualization and analytic solutions.
- Generate related solution documentation and Power BI dashboards.
- Conduct training on Teksouth-developed products related to customer needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 16 years of total experience. Varying combinations of total experience and education levels will be considered (e.g. 20 years of total work experience with a High School degree or 12 years and PhD)
- Must have an active Secret security clearance.
- Working knowledge of Power BI.
- Basic database development knowledge with at least one database platform (e.g., Dataverse, MS Access, SQL, MS Power Query, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming, functional, and/or query language (e.g. DAX, VBA, M, etc.) in a professional or academic environment
- Possess a customer-centric attitude with excellent communication skills, strong personal integrity, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to acquire Power Platform Fundamentals Microsoft Certification within 90 days of hiring.
- Ongoing commitment to learning the latest innovations; both via formal training and self-guided research.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with DoD/Air Force Financial Management processes and data
- Strong experience in the field of business intelligence, information management, consulting, or working in a relevant industry role with a specialty in data visualization.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power BI service
- Able to lead specific project tasks to analyze problems, define requirements, and recommend solutions.
- Possesses a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a large organization, managing diverse tasks, requirements, and commitments.
- Knowledge of implementing design best practices to ensure dashboard design consistency for the best user experience.
- Design solutions utilizing Microsoft Power Platform technologies (e.g. Power Apps, Power Flows, Power Automate, Dataverse, etc.)
- Familiarity with generating documentation of solutions, processes, and checklists
