Position Summary:
Position Summary:
The Student Support Navigator holds a crucial position with the FCC Live Well initiative by guaranteeing students' access to essential resources. This role involves overseeing food pantry programs, collaborating with community partners, and improving overall initiatives for Student Wellness and Support. Cultural competence is a significant component of this role. The ideal candidate should possess proven experience in diverse environments, showcasing an understanding and respect for cultural sensitivities. The capability to promote inclusive practices is essential for effectively serving our diverse student population and cultivating an atmosphere of equity and respect within the college community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
Basic Needs Program Management
1. Oversee the 'Cougar Mart' food pantry operation.
2. Lead the operation and strategic development of the 'Cougar Mart' food pantry.
3. Implement and manage FCC Live Well initiatives related to basic needs security.
4. Responsible for efficiently receiving and completing orders for Cougar Pods, our campus food locker program, ensuring timely distribution and management of food resources for students.
5. Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations and explore collaboration with the Frederick County Food Council.
6. Create and coordinate basic needs drives and resource distribution efforts.
7. Develop outreach and education programs focusing on nutrition and resource accessibility.
8. Supervise student assistants and volunteers involved in basic needs programs.
9. Liaise with internal and external parties to advocate and inform about FCC's basic needs initiatives.
Student Wellness and Support
1. Contribute to the development and execution of programs in mental wellness, personal safety education, and physical wellness.
2. Collaborate with other departments to integrate basic needs security into broader wellness initiatives.
3. Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Student Wellness and Support.
Salary: $25.00 hourly
