Overview:

  Kennedy Valve Co. is a subsidiary of McWane Inc. Kennedy Valve is a gray and ductile iron foundry and computerized machining and assembly operation. We supply fire hydrants and valves to the water works and fire suppression industries. We have been manufacturing these products in Elmira, New York, for over 125 years.

 

SUMMARY

Kennedy Valve is currently seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Supply Chain Intern. This position reports to our Inventory Control Manager. In this role there will be opportunities to gain experience in multiple areas of the supply chain; typically, around inventory and procurement.

 

Responsibilities:

JOB DUTIES

• Communicating cross-functionally to support projects and process improvements.
• Provide support to both internal and external customers around inventory and procurement needs.
• Support inventory and procurement teams through various assignments from data entry to vetting suppliers.
• Collaborating with team members cross-functionally to improve processes, metrics, and control costs.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Full-time matriculation in an accredited Bachelor of Science degree program: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
• Proficient user of Microsoft 365 applications; especially Excel and SharePoint.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes
• Capacity to learn and build knowledge quickly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing or sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, walking throughout the facility, and the ability to manage up to 50lbs as required.

 

Work Environment

• Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
• Work time is spent on the manufacturing floor and in an office.
