Job Description:


Participate in the administration of enterprise systems including change management, security, performance, and support. The position will also contribute to the ongoing evaluation of commercial packages and software development technologies to determine their relevance and suitability to the administrative software development environment at LSU. All Information Technology Services employees are expected to demonstrate a commitment to exemplary customer service in all facets of their work.


Operations: Assists in the strategy, design, transition, operation, and improvement of LSU enterprise applications and associated infrastructure, including custom and commercial applications, both on premise and cloud based. Works with application, web, and middleware servers. Develops and maintains procedures, scripts, and job schedules to automate or facilitate application operations and maintenance. Creates and maintains operational and technical documentation related to system and application management. (60%)


(...Operations): Monitors systems to ensure optimal performance, effectiveness, and compliance. Ensures necessary maintenance is performed, and schedules maintenance and security updates in accordance with Change Management guidelines and best practices. Collaborates with hardware, OS, and DBA technical teams to ensure proper integration. Works closely with application development teams.


Support: Responds to application and infrastructure incidents, problems, events, and customer requests following appropriate processes. Provide technical support and training to analysts and end users as needed in solving technology related problems in a professional manner. (30%)

Minimum Qualifications:


Administrator 1-

demonstrate an ability to provide technical support for, and administration of, web and application
servers, middleware, and business applications on Windows Server or Linux operating systems.


Administrator 2- Administrator 3- Preferred Qualifications for all levels: administration, and knowledge of server technologies in a University environment. Experience
managing large, complex, technology projects.


Examples of work:


Administrator 1- Administrator 2- Administrator 3- to requirement analysis, level of effort estimation, and project planning. * Mentors other administrators and peers.
