Job description
Job Summary:
- The Travel EMS Dispatcher plays a crucial role in providing efficient and effective emergency medical dispatch services to a private EMS company, with a primary focus on interfacility transfers.
- The ideal candidate MUST possess EMD and BLS certifications, along with 2 to 3 years of experience in medical dispatch.
- The dispatcher will work on a rotational schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, working 12-hour shifts .
- Lodging will be provided during the on-duty week, and compensation will include a travel stipend.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and accurately to emergency medical service requests, prioritizing and dispatching appropriate medical units as necessary.
- Coordinate and communicate with EMS personnel, medical facilities, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless patient transfers.
- Utilize dispatch software and communication equipment effectively to manage incoming requests and maintain accurate records.
- Perform administrative duties related to dispatch operations, such as documentation, reporting, and data entry.
Qualifications:
- Required: 2 to 3 years of prior experience in MEDICAL DISPATCH.
- EMD certification is required.
- BLS certification preferred.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software, communication tools, and computer systems.
- Excellent knowledge of the State of Texas is necessary.
Compensation:
- $2,500 per 7 days worked, inclusive of the travel stipend.
- Bi-weekly pay schedule.
- Lodging is provided during the on-duty week.
