This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Moores Cancer Center and remote.
The Moores Cancer Center (MCC) is one of just 54 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. The Clinical Trials Office (CTO) at UCSD's Moores Cancer Center administers many clinical trials on behalf of its member investigators, including trials sponsored by National Cancer Institute cooperative groups, pharmaceutical companies, and physician investigators.
Under general direction, the Training and Education Specialist for clinical research will serve as subject matter expert on clinical research education programs and activities. Leads the development and implementation of programmatic activities, which may include program competencies, curriculum, and exams. Serves as a main point of contact for training and onboarding of new staff. Serves as a liaison between all relevant stakeholders, which may include course chairs, program directors, department chairs, contractors, department administration, faculty, and learners.
Eleven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus seven years of related experience/training.
Expert analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Expert knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
In-depth knowledge of clinical research coordination in an oncology setting.
Strong experience providing in-service training to various research personnel on protocols, processes, and procedures.
Expert knowledge of training and delivery methodologies, organizational diagnosis, organization and business strategies. Expert ability to facilitate educational technology opportunities using technology-based solutions.
Expert verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and advanced presentation skills. Skills to work collaboratively coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization. Successful experience working with people with a wide range of backgrounds and skills. Strong diplomacy skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with department, Management, industry leaders and external agencies. Proven ability to advise and influence all levels of leadership and staff.
