Description: 2024-2025 Postdoctoral or Associate Researcher Scholar of Modern Palestine and Israel The Institute for the Transregional Study of the Contemporary Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia (TRI) invites applications from outstanding postdoctoral or more senior researchers of modern Palestine and Israel for one or more positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate or an Associate Research Scholar at Princeton University. TRI will consider applicants from any discipline, though it is especially interested in applicants trained in the disciplines of history, politics, religious studies, literature and culture, and international relations. Recent Ph.D.s will be considered for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position for the year, the anticipated dates are September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025. Postdoctoral Research Associate appointments offer the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance and continued funding. More senior scholars will be considered for an Associate Research Scholar position, a three-year term. Each academic year, pending approval by the Department of Near Eastern Studies and the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, the researcher will be expected to teach a one-semester undergraduate course that may be open to graduate students. The researcher will be required to hold on-campus office hours during the semester they are teaching. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree and are expected to pursue independent research at Princeton and to participate in Institute-related activities on campus. This position is subject to the University's background check policy. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Selected associates will be awarded a competitive salary along with standard benefits. Additionally, they will receive an annual research fund and supplementary support for conference travel and participation fees.
