Job Description
This position is responsible for managing one or more manufacturing cells at the Otis Elevator facility located in Florence, SC on 2nd shift. This position will manage the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations for assigned cell(s) and monitor production orders and schedules to ensure products and scheduled delivery dates are met. Additionally, this position is responsible for the cell meeting quality, delivery and EH&S goals. The ideal candidate must have experience in effectively leading a team and good understanding of lean principles.
Experience/Qualifications
Effective communication (both written and verbally) and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
Demonstration of sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results
Ability to motivate, coach, and lead hourly employees
Ability to effectively work cross-functionally with various groups including, Materials, Purchasing, Supply Management, Engineering, Contract Logistics Center, Finance, HR, EH&S, and IT
Have a good understanding of lean principles and value stream ownership
Must have a good understanding of market changes and experience with new product launches
Person must be willing & able to work in a fast-paced production environment
Flexibility to cross training across several product lines
Basic understanding of electrical assembly and sheet metal fabrication a plus
Understand sheet metal machining and have experience with TRUMPF punch press and brake press machines preferred
Be a voice for Continuous Improvement (our business operating system) and train team members while completing daily tasks
Strong time management and organization skills; ideal candidate aims to improve and meet stretch goals with a positive attitude continuously
