SUMMARY
The utility person is responsible for the daily cleaning of the kitchen in a safe, sanitary, clean and organized manor. The utility person is also responsible for stocking and cleaning all food storage and packaged food areas.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans and refills all coffee and water infusers.
- Daily food prep as assigned by Executive Chef or Sous Chefs
- Ensures all snack areas are fully stocked throughout the day with packaged snacks, fresh fruit, and beverages.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
- Cleans and maintains station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and
- organizational skills.
- Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in
- the station.
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and
- all storage areas.
- Monitors quantities of all items and notifies Chef or Sous Chef to order those items.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef at any time.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience :
- High school diploma
- Passion for healthy cooking and working knowledge of healthy cooking.
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Certifications/License
- ServSafe Certification required
- Local certification as deemed necessary by the state, city or county
Skills/Abilities
- Excellent customer service a must
- Professional communication skills are required.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.
- Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work catering events, some nights
- Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.
