Located fifteen minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Mill Valley, Mount Tamalpais School (MTS) is a k-8 co-educational independent day school serving ~270 students.

The Opportunities

With a new strategic plan and recent successes in growing the diversity of our student and professional communities, MTS is poised to further realize our commitment to inclusion, equity and belonging (IEB) in an increasingly diverse community. The new Director of Inclusion will:

Guide Much of the Work of the Into Action Strategic Plan

IEB is woven throughout our five-year strategic plan, approved in March 2022. The Into Action Strategic Plan is centered around four Habits of Excellence with thirteen Strategic Priorities. The Director will partner with the Head of School, Board, and Administration to ensure we realize the following five Strategic Priorities:

Deepen IEB Work While Broadening Its Leadership

Effective IEB practices shine in numerous areas of our program, pedagogy, operations, and leadership. There is great room for growth, though, both in the execution more broadly as well as the distributed leadership of IEB work. The new Director has the opportunity to:

Pay Range

Salary will be determined by education and years of experience and will range from $130,000-165,000.

About Mount Tamalpais School

Mount Tamalpais School, 100 Harvard Ave, Mill Valley, CA 94941 (Telephone 415-383-9434), is a coeducational day school enrolling children in Kindergarten through Grade 8. The suburban community of Mill Valley is 12 miles north of San Francisco in Marin County. Students have access to the museums, theater, opera, symphony, and ballet of the city, and visit the Pacific Ocean and Mount Tamalpais for hiking and nature study.
