Job description
New England Federal Credit Union/VSECU is looking for a Green Business Development Manager. This person supports the business development of the Green lending program to meet strategic organizational goals. This position works with the VP, Green Lending and Green Operations Manager to grow, strengthen, and maintain relationships across the green lending industry, as well as diversifying to include other impact lending areas. Primary tasks are to explore and develop new opportunities, initiatives, and partnerships that align with organizational mission and strategy. Performs research, and outreach, recommends opportunities, stays informed on clean energy industry policy and technology developments, and presents at conferences and events. Collaborates with lending, marketing, and other departments to ensure successful development and implementation of Green lending programs and other impact lending initiatives. Supervises Green lending business development support staff.
Specific duties include:
- Research and explore growth opportunities for the program and other related impact lending initiatives. These may include expansion of geographic territory, new partners or vendors, product offerings, loan portfolio sales/participations, and collaborations with commercial and mortgage lending. Work with staff in marketing, finance, business solutions, and other lending areas to identify and mitigate risk, determine availability of resources for implementation, recommend process and timeframes for deployment, and plan for servicing.
- Prepare and present proposals for internal review and consideration. Manage the outreach, communications, and follow-up to implement opportunities approved by management. Track communications, report results, and collaborate with other staff to ensure alignment of resources, mission, and strategy.
- Represent green and impact lending for the credit union at events, prepare and deliver presentations at events, conferences, and staff informational sessions. Work closely with the VP, of Green Lending to align messaging, and collaborate with the marketing department to develop website content, such as loan product descriptions, blogs, e-books, social media posts, and brochures.
- Assess developments in clean energy industry policy, incentives, legislative activity, and technology as they impact program strategy. Make recommendations to the VP of Green Lending regarding opportunities and risks to the program and collaborate with the Green Program Manager to align with systems, guidelines, procedures, and compliance.
- Supervise Green and Impact lending support staff. Provide backup to the VP, Green Lending, and Green Program Manager as appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Five years in the field of Green Finance, or roles of increasing responsibility focused on energy efficiency, renewables, carbon emission reduction, and fostering innovation and sustainability through partnerships and collaborations.
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with the clean energy, solar, and/or energy efficiency industry.
- Moderate to advanced experience with events, knowledge of professional presentation and proposal standards, and guidelines for communication protocols
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications, presentation tools and applications, and digital/virtual meeting applications.
