Job description
PRINCIPLE CHEMIST (Permanent) Our client an established manufacturing company with its US headquarters in WNY is looking to hire a Principle Chemist to join their team. This position reports directly to the General Manager of Research & Development.
Responsibilities:
- Design/conduct laboratory experiments by preparing solutions & compounds and analyze their composition and concentration of elements
- Test organic and inorganic compounds to determine their chemical /physical properties structures relationships etc.
- Develop new processes for manufacturing improvements customizing products equipment and formulas for successful outcomes
- Evaluate current and recommend new equipment to improve process performance and technical capabilities
- Analyze current processes make educated adjustments and develop new technologies for the manufacturing of radioactive materials
- Draft patents reports process standards and specifications etc. and present to upper management
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in the laboratory
- Conduct investigations into process problems to determine the root cause and best course of action moving forward
- Mentor other engineers and train when opportunities arise
- Work well independently as well as in a team environment
- Complete special projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full time direct hire
- Standard 40 hours/week
- Masters degree in Chemistry PhD preferred
- Experience with Actinides is preferable
- $90000 $120000 annually depending on experience
