Job description

Cognito Systems, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, is seeking a skilled Technical Writer.   The purpose of this overall project is to provide centralized credentialing and privileging services and support to the United States Army Reserve (USAR) Command with initial entry credentialing, maintenance of credentialing and privileging, and support the Centralized Credentials Privileging Board’s review of completed credentials and privileging files.

Develop, write, revise, and edit reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents. Documentation includes online help, user guides, white papers, design specifications, system manuals, and other documents. Use rough outlines, resource materials, and interpret information obtained through research or provided by technical specialists. Apply knowledge of AIS documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit and publish technical materials. The candidate will perform the following duties:

• Create, develop and manage content for organization’s web presence (requires working with content management software)
• Coordinate web projects across departments and with the AR-MEDCOM Public Affairs Officer (PAO)
• Working with a cross-departmental team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web properties.
• Copy, edit and proofread all web content.

• Bachelor or postgraduate degree in English, journalism, or a science related discipline from an accredited college or

  university

• Have at least (3) years’ experience
• Experience with Federal Government systems and requirements for maintaining access to these systems
• Possess an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification as well as certification in all applications utilized in the computing environment if certification is available
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software, to include, but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience in Quality Assurance preferred.

• Experience in the DOD credentials process preferred
