With over 700 branches across the U.S. and Canada, we offer a comprehensive selection of products including: irrigation supplies, fertilizer and control products, nursery goods, hardscapes, landscape lighting, drainage and erosion control products, tools, and other landscaping accessories and supplies.
We’re seeking an Internal Communications Intern to support employee communication and engagement at SiteOne Landscape Supply. In this role, you will help connect associates with information they need through the research, planning, writing and development of engaging stories on a variety of communication platforms. You will support the Internal Communications team on internal marketing campaigns designed to inform and engage associates on important topics and strategic initiatives.
You will help increase awareness of key SiteOne topics and initiatives to facilitate knowledgeable and engaged associates through intranet articles, emails and email newsletters, videos and other channels. Applicants should submit writing samples or links to published works with a resume.
· Estimated salary range for this role is $17-$25/hr
Responsibilities:
· Research, write, edit, proofread and publish content for email newsletters, the SiteOne intranet, email communications, social media posts, video script outlines and other channels where needed
· Support day-to-day content publishing to the SiteOne intranet
· In collaboration with the Internal Communications team, implement the internal communications editorial calendar and request process
· Support reporting on impact of communications campaigns using analytics data
· Support other duties as assigned in support of communications and integrated marketing
Job Requirements:
· Self-motivated team player and problem solver
· Ability to write clear, concise and compelling content in various styles, tones and length with accurate spelling and grammar; knowledge of AP style of writing
· Strict adherence to brand guidelines and company policy; ability to relate content back to broader SiteOne vision, mission and values
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite experience helpful but not required
· Tech savvy with ability to learn new communication platforms or a willingness to learn
Desired Experience
· Working toward or recently graduated with a degree in communications, marketing, journalism or similar field with strong writing experience; writing samples required
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Tech savvy a plus; interest in and ability to learn to use several communications channels like our associate intranet
