Process Engineer
Reports to: Process Engineering - Headliners
Location: Spartanburg, SC
We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on problem solver who is excited about taking us to the NEXT level. The Process Engineer will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes and methods for safety, quality and cost improvement. A successful candidate will be detailed oriented, process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improves manufacturing processes and methods for safety, quality and cost improvement
- Increases efficiency by analyzing processes to identify and reduce variation
- Tests proposed manufacturing methods and processes; confers with material vendors; solicits observations from operators; trains employees in proper methods
- Assures product and process quality by testing finished product and process capabilities; establishes standards; confirms manufacturing processes
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
- Optimizes processes by statistically analyzing inputs and outputs; follows material vendor's instructions and established procedures; requests special services as needed
- Coordinates the launch of new/revised products including: establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results
- Prepares and maintains process documentation
- Project manages engineering projects to ensure commitments and deadlines are exceeded
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment, methods and procedures
- 5+ years of experience with compression molding and lamination processes
- Statistical analysis abilities
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills
