The Arc of Evansville is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals that will assist in providing community integration, self-care and active treatment to individuals served with disabilities.

Job Duties:
- Ensures that all individuals served are continually engaged in learning activities including independence, social skills and health and safety during programming hours.
- Serves as an effective role model for individuals served and other staff by displaying positive interactions with others, an excellent work ethic while upholding the mission of The Arc of Evansville.
- Completes all documentation on a timely basis.
- Assists individuals with personal care needs, in a manner that promotes dignity and respect.
- Reviews individual's files and participates in person centered training, becoming fully acquainted with his/her strengths, needs and preferences.
- Monitors safety of individuals served and immediately reports and documents injuries, accidents, and incidents following appropriate procedures.
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of individuals served, their families and staff.
- Participates professionally and actively in meetings regarding individuals served, staff meetings and trainings. Offers suggestions in a positive manner, providing input in a respectful manner.
- Assists effectively in crisis intervention, following MANDT approved techniques.
- Maintains appropriate relationships with individuals served, families and providers.
- Must have access to a reliable and safe vehicle for transportation of individuals served. Employees must be willing and able to drive their personnel vehicle for the provision of services. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Good computer, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to regularly lift and move 50 lbs
- Regularly required to stand
- Maintains certification in First Aid and CPR
- Completion of crisis intervention MANDT training upon hire.
