Curriculum Associates is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Revenue Analyst to join our Accounting team. This role will be responsible for accurate revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP. This role will interact and coordinate with members of the Finance, Sales, and Sales Operations departments to ensure that all sales contracts and order transactions are recorded in accordance with external revenue recognition guidance and internal company policies.
The impact you'll have:
Review and analysis of revenue transactions monthly, while working with Customer Service, Sales Operations and Billing teams to ensure proper revenue related data in the Company’s systems.
Participate in month-end close processes including generating reports, maintaining, reviewing and analyzing data, and preparation of monthly journal entries for revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606.
Prepare and maintain monthly revenue related schedules and reconciliations including deferred revenue and unbilled.
Support requests for ad hoc analyses, data and information.
Collaboration with Finance/Accounting, Sales, Sales Operations, and Legal team members to provide, obtain and align revenue related information across the Company.
Ensure the consistent practice and application of the Company’s revenue accounting policies, with attention to areas requiring judgement and estimates.
Maintain appropriate financial internal controls related to revenue recognition and assist with streamlining current processes and controls within revenue accounting.
Support annual year-end external audit, preparing and providing necessary data, schedules and deliverables.
Who we're looking for:
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, nested IF statements).
Knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
In-depth understanding of ASC 606 a plus.
Public accounting experience desired, but not required.
Strong communication skills.
Comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure with the ability to obtain necessary information from various teams within the company.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to be flexible and work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Required Education and Experience:
BS/BA in Accounting required.
At least 2 years of professional accounting experience, revenue accounting preferred.
Benefits and Pay Range:
Pay Range – This role’s range is $51,250 - $84,250. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. This role is also eligible to participate in the company bonus plan. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
