Job description
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Machine Designer)
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Job Summary: This position provides mechanical solutions for Autotec Machines which are developed to solve our customers’ problems. This individual must be an analytical thinker and must be disciplined in applying robust design methodologies and engineering principles to develop and realize solutions, both for new machines and to improve existing machines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates, coordinates and monitors all aspects of production, fabrication and product design
- Performs engineering assignments related to design and analysis for packaging equipment and line systems
- Optimizes new systems and upgrades to existing processes and facilities
- Develops reliability protocols and reports
- Works with maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance processes
- Assists in field work, checking installations, and problem-solving activities.
- Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Works precisely and pays close attention to details
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite products
- Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and must be able to interface directly with other engineers.
- Willing to travel to customer locations.
