Job Description Summary

Edison Works, the military business unit of GE Aerospace, is on the front line of developing advanced technology to support our nation’s defense. If you enjoy a technology-rich environment developing the next generation of aviation products, this role is for you! The Next Generation Products team is responsible for all future advanced military New Product Introduction (NPI) programs developing from GE Aerospace’s investments in science and technology. This role is a Systems Integration Engineering role for a significant NPI program, specifically focused on developing a strategy for implementation of condition-based-maintenance on future military propulsion products.

Systems integration engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user’s needs. System Engineers execute a robust process of design, responsible for creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

The Senior Staff - Engine Systems Sustainment Engineer is accountable for developing and executing a Condition Based Maintenance (CBM+) design strategy during the NPI phase for Next Gen programs. In this role, you will collaborate with a large cross-functional team including Design Engineering, Digital Technology, Logistics and Sustainment, and our external stakeholders to meet CBM+ capability needs for the program. Building CBM+ capabilities require close integration with Controls and PHM (On-Board and Off-Board) teams to optimize the engine Prognostics and Health Management design, while contributing to the overall business strategy for engine applications.
