Job description
We are currently looking for a Controls Engineer for our manufacturing client in London, ON location.
Shift - Day
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designing user interface panels, power distribution panels, and fieldbus layouts.
Managing multiple projects concurrently.
Creating PLC-based control systems from scratch on various platforms (Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
Developing machine safety system designs on different platforms (TwinSAFE/ Guard Logix, etc.).
Writing PLC code from the ground up and utilizing prebuilt code packages across various PLC platforms and in different programming languages.
Initiating UI (user interface) packages from the beginning on diverse platforms.
Collaborating on maintaining the GTAC internal code base and framework.
Creating or collaborating with Robot OEM on Robot I/O and file stack structures for integration into PLC packages on different robot platforms.
Instructing robot programs for various applications (welding, material handling, cutting, etc.).
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with an electrical engineering background.
Assets include industrial automation and system integration experience in manufacturing.
Familiarity with Solidworks Electrical.
Proficiency in PLC and UI programming.
Familiarity with Robot Programming.
Comprehensive understanding of automotive stamping, welding, processing, and automation manufacturing.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a good grasp of the production environment.
