Job Title: Remote Commercial Farm Underwriter

Overview:

As a Remote Commercial Farm Underwriter , you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating risks associated with insuring commercial farms. Your expertise will contribute to sound underwriting decisions, ensuring the financial stability of our clients and the company. This position allows you to work remotely, providing flexibility while maintaining high standards of performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Risk Assessment :

   • Analyze applications for commercial farm insurance, considering factors such as property value, crop types, livestock, and machinery.
   • Evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage levels based on underwriting guidelines.

2. Underwriting Decisions :

   • Underwrite new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations for farm and commercial property policies.
   • Review risk inspections and create risk management recommendations.
   • Collaborate with agent/broker partners to ensure accurate and efficient underwriting processes.

3. Communication and Customer Service :

   • Communicate with clients, applicants, agents, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information.
   • Address applicant inquiries promptly and professionally.
   • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the underwriting process.

4. Quality Control and Compliance :

   • Review and respond to audit items, taking corrective actions as needed.
   • Maintain compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Experience : A minimum of 2 years in property and casualty insurance underwriting, with a focus on commercial lines.
• Knowledge : Familiarity with farm and agricultural risks, including crop insurance, livestock, and machinery.
• Skills :
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risk exposure.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using underwriting software and tools.
• Education : Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
