Nesco Resource has partnered with a growing local construction company looking to add an Accounting Associate to its staff. Scope of Work: The prospective candidate will be responsible for the daily accounting functions not limited to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, but will also be involved in reconciling bank statements, journal entries and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be maintaining accounting databases, and processing backups. Work under close supervision and follow accounting procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities - Responsible for the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable using accounting
- Software (QuickBooks) and Builder's Trend).
- Full cycle A/P process to include matching, batching, coding of invoices and posting invoices to the general ledger
- Accounts Receivable to include, cash application, reconciliation of accounts, bank reconciliation,
- Match invoices with proper purchase orders; get approvals and ensure completeness and accuracy of invoices
- Following up with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, discounts etc. Keeps updated account documentation regarding any payables issues.
- Communicate the current status of invoices, statements, etc., on all accounts
- Detect and resolve problems with incorrect purchase orders and invoices
- Construction billing (AIA) is desired but not a must.
- Create daily, weekly monthly reports as needed by the Controller
- Assist in the month-end closing process
Required Skills/Abilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- QuickBooks and Excel experience
Education: - Bachelor's or Associates degree in Accounting (desired)
- Or 2-4 experience in accounting
