Assistant Project Scientist- Owen's Research Group

Position Overview:
A reasonable estimate for this position is $90,500-$113,600 annually ($43.35/hr-$54.51/hr)


A position is available in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, Davis, in the group of Professor John Owens. The thrust of the research group is the development of novel technologies for computation on parallel processors, with a significant fraction of the group's effort toward data structures, algorithms, applications, and scalable approaches to computing on the graphics processing unit (GPU).

This position requires creative contributions to and collaborative development of an active research program in the research in the area of GPU computing. The candidate will design specific experiments, including the selection of appropriate methods and techniques, and will be responsible for carrying out the research (which may involve experimental, simulation and computational components), analyzing the data and critically interpreting the results.

The Project Scientist is evaluated for merit and promotion based on evidence of contribution to the research program, authorship in peer-reviewed publications and conference papers, active dissemination of information and other evidence of expertise. The Project Scientist will maintain professional competence and perform university and public service. Candidates with experience or willingness to engage in activities that contribute to diversity and inclusion are especially encouraged to apply.
