Pay is Dependent On Experience: $24-$35/HR
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated On-Site Inpatient Coding Supervisor to join our hospital's dynamic team in Tulsa. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the inpatient coding processes, ensuring accurate and timely assignment of codes for medical records. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in inpatient coding as well as outpatient coding, a deep understanding of coding guidelines, and proven leadership abilities. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of coding professionals, conducting quality assessments, claim edits, and collaborating with other healthcare departments to optimize coding workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of coders, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure accurate and compliant assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient medical records.
- Conduct regular quality assessments to maintain coding accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and other departments to resolve coding-related queries.
- Stay updated on coding regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Implement and monitor coding policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for coding staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the coding team.
- Participate in audits and reviews to assess coding performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as a resource for coding-related inquiries and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential required.
- Extensive experience in inpatient & outpatient coding within a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding systems.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a coding department.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes in coding guidelines and regulations.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
