We are currently seeking a Health Disparities Research Analyst with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join the National Institute of Health as a key contributor to our research and policy development efforts. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Public Health, Population Health, or a related discipline, with a strong background in the basic or behavioral sciences, population health, public health, or data management/sciences. This role involves analyzing complex scientific variables, developing reports and documents on health policies and programs, conducting program evaluation studies, and collaborating on strategic plan development. The successful candidate will have a profound knowledge of minority health and health disparities, excellent communication skills, and expertise in NIH grants and funding mechanisms. This position offers the opportunity to impact planning and outcomes of research programs aimed at addressing health disparities, with responsibilities including data collection, analysis, scientific reporting, policy analysis, and advising on public policy issues.
TASKS. The contractor shall:
Analyze complex scientific variables to prepare reports impacting research program planning and outcomes.
Develop documents on policies, programs, research accomplishments, and activities of the organization.
Conduct program evaluation studies and analysis of research activities to support program assessments.
Collaborate on strategic plan development, conducting gap analyses, and synthesizing recommendations.
Develop and implement logic models, performance metrics, and data collection strategies for strategic planning.
Assess scientific program performance using quantitative and qualitative data.
Collect, analyze, and assimilate data for research, health, and social policy decisions.
Advise management on public policy issues and recommend appropriate actions.
Coordinate with junior staff, providing clear objectives and expectations for their work.
Plan and present at meetings on current and new initiatives, developing technical/scientific materials for various audiences.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
Ph.D. in Public Health, Population Health, or a related discipline.
At least three years of specialized experience with a Master's degree, or equivalent experience for a Ph.D. holder.
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong knowledge of minority health and health disparities.
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Experience with NIH grants, funding mechanisms, strategic planning, data analysis, and public health policy briefs.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with diverse teams.
Knowledge in designing, developing, and performing analyses and evaluations.
