Position Summary/Description:

The Director for Development will report to the Assistant Dean for Development. S/he is responsible for personal gift portfolio of 75-100 prospects to include donor identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Also responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of the school's comprehensive annual giving program designed to expand the donors for the law school and increase the operational annual funds to $1.5 million, and beyond, in support of the law school's top funding needs. The Director for Development will also manage and oversee at least one of the UNC Law Alumni Association leadership volunteer committee(s). The Director for Development will collaborate closely with the Assistant Dean for Development to build a culture of high achievement and accountability across the law school advancement team, as well as strong, professional relationships with the University Development Office and campus partners throughout the University.

Education and Experience:

Leading candidates will have: A minimum of five or more years of experience with demonstrated successful experience and effectiveness in annual giving, donor relations, communications, project management, donor identification and solicitation, preferably in a higher education setting.
