The Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant BMT Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will be part of one of the largest health care facility in the area and is known for outstanding programs in heart care, orthopedics, rehabilitation, robotic surgery, stroke care and women's health. The emergency room is one of the nation's most technologically advanced intensive care and emergency facilities. 


The Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will oversee staff development in the department. Under a new Clinical Practice Model, the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant BMT Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will focus on staff development and lead efforts related to the identification, implementation and evaluation of unit specific education, patient education and evidence-based practice. 


Reporting to the Nurse Director of Education and Nursing Director of Medical Surgical, the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will utilize the Clinical Leadership Model to optimize the role resulting in a highly educated and competent advanced practice staff that produces positive patient outcomes.


The Pediatric Hematology Oncology Department Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will educate the staff in 45 bed mix of Pediatric Oncology, pulmonary and medical/surgical patients. The Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant BMT Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will collaborate with the Hospitalists, Oncologists and Case Managers to maximize the plan of care for our patients. The unit specializes in Palliative and Hospice Care and share a unique appreciation in caring for End of Life patients.
