Position Summary

The Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at Northern New Mexico College, Espanola Campus, invites
applications for a nine-month open rank Mathematics faculty position with a contract starting in August 2024.


Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is a public two-year and four-year degree granting institution founded in 1909 by the New Mexico Constitution. NNMC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. NNMC operates from two campuses in Espanola and El Rito and serves an average of 1,100-1,200 students per semester.
The Department of Mathematics and Physical Science offers Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics, a Certificate in Data Science, and services other departments by offering a variety of mathematics and physical science courses. The position requires an on-campus presence at the Espanola Campus for face-to-face teaching and office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Visiting Professor and Instructor position: Master's Degree in Mathematics a closely related field.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position: Ph.D. in Mathematics or closely related field. ABDs are welcome and encouraged to apply. However, ABDs must have a PhD before applying for tenure.

SALARY: Based on credentials and experience. Starting salary for an Assistant Professor in Mathematics with a PhD is $60,778 as per the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
